Safety

Complex security issues require cooperation, agility, and decisiveness.

1 case

The world of public safety is changing rapidly. Digitalization, social tensions, subversion, cybercrime, staffing shortages, and increasing complexity call for new ways of collaborating and organizing. At the same time, organizations such as the police, the Public Prosecution Service, public safety regions, and municipalities are under intense pressure to deliver results today and innovate for tomorrow.

At The Next Lab, we help security organizations make complex issues manageable. Not with reports that end up gathering dust on a shelf, but by designing and experimenting together and driving practical change step by step.

What issues are we addressing?

Among other things, we are working on issues such as:

  • How can we strengthen collaboration among supply chain partners?
  • How can we foster greater ownership and leadership during times of change?
  • How can we foster innovation without disrupting operations?
  • How can we manage capacity and workload more effectively?
  • How can we make complex transitions concrete and actionable?
  • How do we get teams, departments, or networks moving?
  • How can we use technology and data in a way that works in practice?

What do we do in that regard?

Depending on the issue, we use different approaches:

  • Focus Sprints to quickly establish direction, make decisions, and build support.
  • Design Sprints and innovation programs to bring new ways of working or solutions to life and test them.
  • Innovation programs to effectively implement change.
  • Leadership and team development to strengthen collaboration, ownership, and the ability to drive change.

From complexity to movement.

What's your challenge?

  • How do we bring together different organizations and interests to address a complex security challenge?
  • How can we work together to develop and test new approaches that are in step with a changing society?
  • How do we get people, teams, and organizations moving forward on complex change initiatives?

How We Do What We Do

With the power of design thinking, we think and act fundamentally differently: from the end user's perspective, with an eye for what touches, resonates and really fits.

Our Experience

How can you help young leaders make a greater social impact? For One Young World, The Next Lab developed a program that brings together leadership, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
Together with Rivas Zorggroep, we worked on a shared and concrete vision for the future of De Bannehof.
